There’s a newcomer in Bacolod’s dining and drinking scene, and it might just be what this city needs. A sleek and cozy ambiance sets as the backdrop for Bacolod’s newest Spanish restaurant and wine bar.
I’ll go straight to the point and say their Signature Gin and Tonic Drinks are pure genius. One came with sugar cane and batwan, probably two of the most Negrense elements out there— threw that in a drink and made it work. So was their Indian Summer concoction (infused with curry seeds and leaves, and mango), which was an absolute bliss to sip on.
Then, imagine my joy (and surprise) when i saw their extensive and imaginative wine list— like the wine gods finally heard my prayers and brought the good stuff to Bacolod. And in a split second, imagine all that happiness crushed when the first five wine bottles I wanted were not available. It was so heartbreaking that I gave up going through their list and just told the staff to bring me whatever red wine they had. It was the weekend, it was mad busy, it was probably not my lucky night.
However, my luck may have just turned when I finally got a taste of their Eggplant with truffle honey and Pintxos. Suddenly, all is forgiven. Of course with the help of a few glasses of wine, sangria, margarita, and some others.
Personally, I think Quedan is the perfect drinkers paradise in the city, with their signature cocktails (hopefully a restocked wine bar soon) and an upbeat crowd. Pair that with tempting small plates of nibbles, this makes a great place for appetizers to start your night— or a few more drinks to end it. Either way, Quedan is THE spot to bring your family and friends, to enjoy a few (or more) drinks and bites over great conversations.
