I’m not one to feature restaurant chains. I consider myself a supporter of local businesses.
Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen specializes in Tonkotsu ramen (best kind of ramen, if you ask me) , Chasu roast pork and Gyoza since 1970, and is now open in Bacolod! I had to make time from my busy schedule of local food binging, and spoil myself with a comforting bowl of noodles.
I ordered the Black Garlic Tonkotsu (P280). Not only because black is cool, but because garlic is awesome. Plus, it’s their bestseller.
(This is how the ramen was served. But I’m a bowl half full, not half empty kinda girl.)
Some feedback I heard before was there’s not much noodles/broth to fill the big bowl. Maybe the ramen is a little less compared to other branches (I haven’t been to other branches to confirm that), however we have to keep in mind that the price of each bowl in Metro Manila is P380 and in Bacolod City is only P280. Nevertheless, the taste of the broth, the quality of the roast pork and the firmness of the noodles is not compromised. Don’t forget to add soft boiled egg (P50) to your ramen!
Also not to miss, their famous Gyoza (P150). It will not disappoint! I can’t wait to come back and try their Karaage Chicken (P180) and maybe the spicy ramen, too. But I definitely won’t mind having that bowl of black garlic tonkotsu again.
Yes, I’ll definitely be back for more.
Ikkoryu has to be my go-to-ramen place in Bacolod. For now, at least.
