Farm To Table Experience: Merkado in Bacolod

March 18, 2017

Merkado serves up deliciously conscientious dishes from all-natural, organic and mostly local produce. A big believer of the slow food and farm-to-table concept, Merkado dishes out only nutritious and hearty meals. Binging here is easy on the guilt—not only because I’ll be having black or red rice, but because I know I’m helping out the local farmers in my own little way while feasting on really good food. What a responsible human being I’ve become.

What it means to be a Farm-to-Table Restaurant?

Generally,  if a restaurant sources its products from a farm or ranch that doesn’t use hormones or pesticides, and they’re cutting the middlemen by bypassing commercial vendors, that is farm-to-table. Another reason to love Merkado, their homey interior! I am digging the mixed prints on the seats and the tiles. Arroz ala Merkado (P219)Beef tapa (P165)Don’t miss their Chicken Galantina (P175), J’s Greens Salad (P235), Baked Bangus Belly (P215) and Merkado Iced Coffee (P118) made with Kanlaon coffee beans.

Merkado continually proves that healthy can be yummy, too! And we totally support it.
